This experience is for one person to participate in a group adventure. There will be between 4 and 7 passengers per raft plus one guide per raft.

Weather dependency
|
|
We operate in most weather conditions, however we reserve the option to cancel or relocate a trip for safety reasons. Should we need to alter or postpone your experience, we will make every endeavor to do so before you leave home.

Professional rafting guides * All rafting equipment, including rafts, paddles * All safety equipment, including buoyancy vests and helmets * Rafting clothing including wet suits, wet boots, spray jackets, thermal tops, beanies and gloves if required * Hearty snacks on the river and a Hermits Farm BBQ at the end of your journey.

What you need to bring / provide
|
|
You'll need a bathing suit or spare underwear, shorts, a towel, warm dry clothes, a plastic bag for wet clothing, footwear for after your trip, lip and sunscreen, medications, sunglasses and glasses strap.
|

|
Requirements and restrictions
|
No prior rafting experience is necessary. Participants must be 12 years old or over 35kg in order to fit into a whitewater-rated buoyancy vest. We've hosted people as old as 87 on our trips!
While you should be able to swim, you don't need to be a strong swimmer. During the safety talk we demonstrate all rescue procedures and in most situations we prefer you to simply float on your back with your feet up in what is known as the whitewater float position.

We use the latest rafting equipment from Canada, USA and NZ including satellite phones and EPIRB for increased safety. Our most recent full equipment renewal took place in August 2006.

| Getting There |
|
Our chipin.com.au packages are operated on the Murray River.
The Murray Gates are located approximately 5 hours north-east of Melbourne or 6 hours South of Sydney in the Snowy mountains region. Air, coach or train transport from Melbourne or Sydney can be arranged for an additional charge. |
