Our Mixed Bag Fishing Trips last for four or five hours. Prices vary as described in the "options" section below.

Numbers
|
|
The "West Wind" is licensed to carry 50 passengers, but we limit the number of persons fishing to 30 people so there is plenty of room to move.
|
|
|
Availability
|
Mixed Bag Trips depart daily (weather permitting). Bookings are essential for all trips.
Monday - Friday: * 7.00 or 8.00 am till 12.00 pm (4/5 hours)
* 12:30 pm till 4.30 pm (4 hours)
Weekends:
* 7.00 am till 12.00 pm (5 hours)
* 12.30 pm till 4.30 pm (4 hours)
Twilight Fishing:
* 5.00 pm till 9.00 pm (4 hours) (November to February)

Requirements and restrictions
|
Unfortunately, children under 7 years of age will not be permitted aboard.
Anyone fishing in Victoria needs a fishing licence to fish, unless they:
* are under 18 or over 70 years of age;
* hold a Victorian senior's card;
* hold a Commonwealth age pension, invalid pensions, totally & permanently incapacitated pension or service pension card.
Licences cost is $5.50 for 48 hours, $11 for 28 days, $22 for one year and $60 for three years. They may be purchased on board the "West Wind" on the day of your trip if required.

What to bring
|
BYO alcohol (limited to a few drinks per person). Any beer bought aboard must be in cans only, and no red wine is permitted.
It's best to wear loose comfortable clothing and runners or trainers with a good grip. Depending on the weather, you may need to wear something windproof or waterproof with a hood, or bring sun screen and sunglasses.

Weather dependency
|
Your trip may be cancelled due to poor weather. St Kilda Charters will obtain a final weather report on the night before your trip. If the forecast predicts unsuitable weather, a new date will be scheduled.
Regardless of the weather, St Kilda Charters will call you to confirm your place on the night before your trip.

Other information
|
|
The "West Wind" is a 60 foot Randall Flybridge Cruiser that's powered by a 600 hp engine which lets her get out quickly to the best spots. She's equipped with all of the great "mod cons" from the bow to stern, including depth sounder and fish finder, and GPS.

| Getting There |
|
Our vessel "West Wind" is located in row A at the St Kilda Marina (Melways Reference is Map 57, K12).
Free all day parking is available at the Marina in front of the boat. There is also plenty of room for bus parking. If you are travelling by public transport, we are about 500m from the St Kilda Beach tram stop at Luna Park - Nos. 16 or 96. |
